Lost Hills
This project consists of a 10-mile shoulder widening and complete reconstruction of lane 2 north and south bound on Interstate 5 between Lerdo Avenue and Los Hills. The project will utilize 190,000 tons of HMA and 64,000 cubic yards of continuous reinforced concrete. The project will upgrade this portion of highway to a new 40 year pavement design.
G3 Quality partnered with the Joint Venture to develop the materials designs and collaborated on project phasing to expedite the construction schedule. Utilizing a fully Caltrans certified Superpave HMA Mobile laboratory at the plant, the contractors risk was mitigated by providing materials quality data during the shifts production. As the work progressed, the G3 Quality team informed the contractor of materials results throughout the day in real time and provided Caltrans the Quality Reports at the end of each shift.
