David Byrnes

Director of Finance

 

David brings a wealth of experience and expertise to steer our financial strategies toward excellence. Bringing nearly 20 years of experience as a financial controller in the A/E/C industry. His diverse experience enables him to establish strong partnerships within our organization. From articulating the financial needs of the company to providing financial advice, David is perfectly poised to play a role in G3’s continued success.
 
Outside of work, David enjoys all things outdoors, be it hiking, biking or kayaking. He finds heading anywhere he can jump in the water and get outside is a good balance to the time he spends indoors during the week. Join us in extending a warm welcome to David as he embarks on this exciting journey with us.

Royce Parker

Senior Business Development Director

 

With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, Royce brings a wealth of expertise in business development and marketing, making him a true veteran in the field. Royce excels in capture planning, sales and marketing management, problem-solving, and team building for technical and professional services in the public and private market sectors. Royce’s unique skill set combines his profound knowledge of QA/QC services with a remarkable knack for identifying lucrative opportunities and fostering valuable partnerships. His unwavering dedication to delivering solution-oriented value for infrastructure projects across California has solidified his reputation as a trusted advisor. Working in close collaboration with our exceptional team of engineers and project managers, Royce is focused on bridging distinctive challenges with optimal resources and creating real value for all stakeholders.
 
When he’s not at the office, Royce’s true passions come to life. He’s an avid culinary enthusiast, constantly honing his skills in the art of cooking and delving into various culinary traditions. Beyond the kitchen, he finds solace tending to his six chickens and cultivating his vast garden alongside his wife. He also enjoys bonding with his three sons during their duck hunting excursions and training their canine companions to excel as skilled hunting partners.

Christine Lee

Director of Human Resources

 

Christine is a people-first HR professional with over 20 years of experience across various industries. Currently, as the Director of HR at G3, she oversees the comprehensive HR function, which includes talent acquisition, employee engagement, benefits administration, compliance, and safety. Christine enjoys working with the collaborative, talented, supportive, and fun team at G3, making every conversation — whether about work, pets, hobbies, or family — engaging and enjoyable. This dynamic environment fuels her passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting employees in their professional and personal growth. Outside of work, Christine cherishes spending quality time with their kids, family, friends, and dog. She also enjoys going for evening jogs, exploring new restaurants, and indulging in cooking shows and podcasts.

Our material testing laboratories have the equipment and qualified staff to efficiently carry out:

  • Superpave, Hveem, Marshall, and Balanced Mix Design Methods
  • Specialized HMA testing: Hamburg Wheel Track Trest, APA Rut Test, IDEAL-CT, IDEAL-RT, SCB Testing

Our laboratories are equipped to run specialized testing, such as:

  • Dry Shrinkage Testing
  • Compressive Correlation to Flexural Strength Testing
  • Determining the Maturity Development Curve
  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, AASHTO T336, and Texas DOT 428-A
  • Modulus of Elasticity Testing
  • Hot Concrete Testing for Nuclear Vault Storage

  • ASTM C29 (Test for Unit Weight Density for Coarse and Fine Aggregate)
  • ASTM C40 (Test for Organic Impurities in Fine Aggregate)

Ray Alcantara

Director of Client Services
 
With over two decades of industry experience, Ray is an invaluable resource for our clients, offering innovative solutions and effectively addressing any project concerns. His extensive expertise enables him to work closely with clients and collaborate seamlessly with our project management team.


Ray began his career in 2004 as a field and laboratory technician. Over the years, he has served as a QC technician on design-build projects, airports, dams, military bases, and commercial developments; a Field Supervisor, supporting field staff in all aspects of QC/QA, certifications, development, and safety; and a Field Services Manager, where he supported field staff in all field operations, implemented training programs, and provided project support.


Currently, as the Director of Client Services, Ray is responsible for developing cost estimates for QC/QA projects, managing projects, supporting clients through technical challenges by providing solutions, and overseeing and supporting the G3 field services team. He is dedicated to building strong relationships, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and support. His commitment to excellence and his proactive approach makes him a trusted advisor, consistently delivering exceptional results and fostering long-term client satisfaction.


Ray enjoys supporting the field services team through daily operations and partnering with contractors and owners to complete successful projects. Outside of work, he enjoys BBQs with friends and family, classic car shows, live music, and traveling with his wife.

Josh Noegel

Senior Project Manager

 

Josh is a Senior Project Manager here at G3 Quality and an an expert in the Quality Control/Quality Assurance industry. Josh began his 22-year career as a field and laboratory technician who carried out testing for soils, aggregate base, hot mix asphalt, and concrete. He then progressed to become a Field and Laboratory Supervisor, managing field technicians and laboratory accreditations, as well as Project Manager and Estimator, developing cost estimates for infrastructure projects. Additionally, Josh is well versed in the development of cement treated base, full depth reclamation (cement), HMA and concrete mix designs. He has provided his expertise to a wide range of projects throughout his career including highway and roadway rehabilitations, runway and taxiway reconstructions at airports and military bases, water wastewater projects, and structural work.

 

Josh’s experience performing all aspects of testing and inspection on a variety of material types for a wide range of agencies and projects has given him the experience to develop realistic cost estimates and provide creative solutions to our clients to perform the required scope of services as quickly and cost effectively as possible. When not in the office, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and playing golf.

Jordan Roper, P.E.

Project/Department Manager

 

Jordan is a Project/Department Manager and an expert in geotechnical engineering, pavement evaluation and design, quality program management, inspection, and material testing management. With 12 years in the construction industry and geotechnical engineering field, he has a strong understanding of the importance of a good foundation in construction and how to mitigate geotechnical issues.

 

Jordan is keen on embodying our core value of pride and providing the best services to clients by ensuring projects are constructed properly the first time. When he’s not in the field or in-office, Jordan can be found with his wife and three kids, oftentimes carrying out DIY house projects as a family.

Marc Robert

Technical Services Director

 

Marc is a Technical Services Director at G3 Quality with over 34 years of experience in the construction industry and specific knowledge in the technical aspects of cement, aggregate, and concrete supply. He has provided his expertise to many of the major freeways throughout the Los Angeles area, self-consolidating concrete high rise buildings in downtown Los Angeles, and changes of Section 40 of Caltrans Standard Specifications.

 

Marc brings extensive knowledge in concrete mixture development, investigation of in-placed concrete, and laboratory management. He supports our clients in the development of mix proportions and value engineering to accomplish their projects productively. Outside of work, he enjoys watching movies, sports, and spending time with his grandkids.

Matt Ramos

Vice President
 
Matt Ramos has more than 23 years of experience in the construction materials testing and inspection industry. As Director, he oversees the Laboratory, Reporting, and Internal Quality departments. Additionally, he serves as our HMA technical expert, developing HMA mix designs and providing solutions for HMA producers and contractors throughout the state. His HMA technical expertise adds value G3 projects. Matt has a diverse background in the Quality Control industry. He began his career as a Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor, providing data review and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) mix designs.
 
Matt collaborates closely with the Laboratory Manager and Information Systems Manager to coordinate testing and mix designs, ensuring they are processed and reported efficiently. He enjoys tackling challenges and working with his team to find quick solutions as well as assisting clients with troubleshooting HMA mixes and developing laboratory testing programs.
 
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching baseball, and attending concerts.

Zachary Wheeler, P.E.

Director of Operations
 
Zachary manages our project management, laboratory, field services, and technology divisions. As a California registered Professional Engineer, Zachary has more than 11 years of experience and is responsible for managing our daily operation which includes planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities for projects varying in size. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for scheduling and managing field technicians, reviewing field and laboratory data, and delivering report submittals.
 
Zachary coordinates closely with each department to strategically staff and service each of our unique projects throughout California.
 
Zachary enjoys working on house improvements with his wife, golfing, and going to the beach with his daughter and their dog.

Susan Pierce

President

Susan is a founding member of G3 Quality, with more than 16 years of Architect/Engineer/Construction Industry-related experience along with a Bachelors’ degree in Business from Pepperdine University.

Susan has held key leadership roles in marketing and sales in the roles of Director of Strategic Planning and Senior Inside Sales Coordinator. Susan combines her industry strategic planning experience and expertise in business administration and organizational structure to head up the G3 Quality leadership team.

G3 Quality’s values of Pride, Partnerships, Ownership, and Effectiveness are demonstrated by Susan daily in her interactions with each G3 department, our trusted vendors, and clients. As a DISC certified trainer, Susan manages training and leadership development initiatives which include our G3 Academy, a program designed to guide and educate G3 Quality’s management team.

Chris and Susan organized the company to sustain a healthy work-life balance. In Susan’s quality time with her family and friends, she enjoys athletic activities with her husband and two daughters, as well as traveling and wine tasting.

Chris Gerber

Chief Executive Officer

Chris has actively participated in the infrastructure materials engineering and quality industry for more than 24 years, having first being introduced to the testing of concrete cylinders when he was just 15 years old. His passion lies in the design, testing, and inspection of materials as well as the development and implementation of project quality programs. This passion has resulted in the development of technical solutions that have helped a variety of clients complete successful projects over the years. The founding principle of G3 Quality is to establish a client-focused infrastructure quality management company that partners with all project stakeholders and invests in the success of the project.

Chris has managed quality programs on some of California’s most iconic infrastructure projects as well as various city/county quality assurance programs. Throughout his career, Chris has maintained an active involvement in our transportation community to continually improve, recognize, and implement processes and products.

Chris is a former Board Member of California Transportation Foundation (CTF) and has remained actively involved with California Asphalt Pavement Association, American Public Works Association (APWA), and Caltrans Expert Task Group. In his spare time, Chris enjoys water sports, family, friends, and hosting Sunday dinners with a variety of craft brews.

Chris Trull

Director of Project Development

 

Chris leads our project management team here at G3 Quality. Chris began his 22-year quality management career as a field testing technician then a roadway inspector for infrastructure projects. After 12 years in the field, he transitioned to a management role, helping clients directly and mentoring other employees. 

 

Chris embodies our core value of partnership and is skilled in forming strong relationships with contractors and owners to maintain quality standards. Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports, camping, and off-roading.
