PROJECT SCOPE
Phase 2 of the Runway 10L-28R Rehabilitation Project will rehabilitate the existing Runway Surface Pavement at the San Francisco International Airport and Airfield Lighting Infrastructure on the runway and associated taxiways. Major features of the project include the realignment and widening of certain taxiways, including necessary subsurface infrastructure work, to facilitate the improvements.
OUR ROLE
G3 is under contract to perform on-site Quality Control testing of soil subgrade materials, crushed aggregate base (P-209 and/or P-219), cement treated base (P-304) and Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) (P-401 & P-403). Compaction testing is conducted utilizing nuclear gauge to establish and monitor rolling patterns and provide feedback to paving crews, perform straightedge testing during and after paving operations and document all measurements, coring of the completed HMA pavement and backfilling of core holes with non-shrink grout.
OUR ADDED VALUE
To expedite testing and deliver “on-location” results, G3 mobilized an on-site laboratory with the capability of running HMA core bulk specific gravities, soil maximum densities for various materials, and soil/aggregate gradations in accordance with ASTM and/or AASHTO test procedures. Our field reports and test results are being completed and submitted to the client daily, guiding the project to be completed on time.
